Reading the replay

  • Amber cone— what the camera’s frame covered, out to the aircraft’s range. It narrows as the lens zooms in.
  • Dashed white line — where the tracker told the head to point. The gap to the cone is the head catching up.
  • Line to the aircraft— teal while the camera’s vision has the plane locked, red when it lost it, violet during an overhead park.
  • Diamond ahead of the plane — the aim point: the tracker steers for where the aircraft will be by the time the head gets there.

Positions come from the aircraft’s ADS-B broadcasts; the camera pose from the head’s own reports, through the mount model recorded with the pass. Distances are from the camera; nothing is drawn that locates it. Back to the pass for the full clip, trace and metrics.
